Plus 2 PSC Lecturers demand Assured Career Progression

JAMMU, May 20: Central Working Committee (CWC) Jammu of All J&K Plus Two PSC Lecturer Association convened a meeting and raised the long pending demand of Assured Career Progression (ACP).
The meeting, presided over by its convenor Manjeet Chib, was attended by all district representatives of Jammu province, who highlighted the core issue of implementation of Assured Career Progression (ACP) in favour of plus two lecturers.
The Association informed that it had submitted a detailed representation to Service Grievance Committee, headed by K K Sharma but no concrete outcome has been witnessed so far. “The demand was accepted as genuine by Service Grievance Committee and we were assured to be called in the meeting during follow up to discuss all the issues enlisted but there was not intimation up to now which shows that the committee is least bothered about the legitimate demand of plus two lecturer community,” the meet observed and appealed Advisor K K Sharma and Advisor Khurshid Ganai to intervene for immediate implementation of Assured Career Progression in favour of plus 2 lecturers.
While discussing present educational scenario, the Association members stressed the need of developing infrastructure at higher secondary level and providing sufficient teaching staff, particularly in newly upgraded schools. The representatives also said that transfers to be made for winter zone should be as per the norms laid down in existing transfer policy and those serving in far off areas should be repatriated on priority basis.
The direct recruited lecturers expressed satisfaction over the performance of the students in 12th class examination and said that the Association would put every possible effort to raise the standard of quality education deliver their best in the class. “However, it is imperative to boost them by providing financial incentives. Plus two lecturers are the only intellectual lot who are denied of the benefits of assured career progression which is sort of humiliation and mental torture which needs to be addressed for the welfare of lecturer community,” the Association said.
Those who were present in the meeting, included Rishi Manhas, Suresh Gouria, Sandeep Sharma, Ranjeet Manhas, Dr Sanjay Arora, Mohd Iqbal Padhar, Fareed Ahmed Runyal, Romesh Singh, Imtiyaz Khawaja, Umar Shareef, M A Katoch, Pawan Kumar, Shabber Hussain and others.
