JAMMU, Sept 7: A delegation of All J&K Plus 2 Officers Association submitted a memorandum to Farooq Khan, the Advisor to Lt Governor , here today and highlighted the grievances and demands of Physical Education Lecturers.
In the memorandum, the Association demanded removal of the pay anomaly of all the Physical Education Lecturers by granting them pay level of 52700-166700 at par with their counterparts of other subjects besides creation of posts of Lecturers in Physical Education for all Higher Secondary Schools.
The Association explained that the nature of duties, responsibilities , minimum basic qualification , duty hours and place of work of both the 10+2 Lecturers and Physical Education Lecturer are same and thus on this count they are also entitled to get pay level equivalent to 10+2 Lecturers.
“Besides teaching Physical Education, they also help the School Administration in maintaining congenial atmosphere by guiding and mentally preparing the students for maintaining strict discipline in the School/ Classes. They are also engaged in many more activities and work for maintaining sound mind in the sound bodies of all the students,” added the memorandum.
It was also discussed that all the In- charge Physical Education Lecturers may also be considered for regularization and one third of sanctioned strength of Physical Education Lecturers (DPC + PSC)may also be considered for placement as Sr Lecturer in Physical Education on the analogy of 10+2 Lecturers so that they may be further promoted as District Youth Services and Sports Officers or Principals HSSs as per their choices.
The Advisor patiently listened to the demands and assured the Association for favourable consideration at an earliest.
The delegation was led by President of the Association, Dr Prithvi Paul Raina, who was accompanied by the executive committee members of the Association, including Rajeev Kumar Sharma, Narinder Kumar Sharma, Sanjew Kumar Pandita, Sanjeev Kumar, Kapil Banotra, Sarbjit Singh, Surinder Singh, Lakshmi Kant, Vinod Bhat, Ramesh Kumar, Rajinder Chowdhury, Sanjay Raina, Harcharn Singh, Amarjit Singh and others.
