Plus 2 Lecturers highlight demands

UDHAMPUR, July 14: The monthly meeting of the District Udhampur unit of Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum was held here today, wherein the participants deliberated upon the burning problems faced by the Plus 2 Lecturers’ community and the current scenario of the education.
The meeting which was presided over by Arunesh Kumar, district president of the Forum, urged the Deputy CM and Minister, School Education Department, to take immediate steps for the formulation of a new education policy to enable the students to compete with the best students from the other states.
Other demands which came up for discussion included non-vacational status for 10 + 2 Principals, parity in the pay scale of Lecturers in Physical Education, restoration of 40% promotional quota to Higher Education, early adjustment of newly promoted Masters and Lecturers, issuance of the list of promotion of Lecturers to Senior Lecturers and Senior Lecturers to Principals, enhancement of grade pay of principals at par with their counter parts in JNVs and KVs, appointment of Chairman JKBOSE, regularization of other officers in the School Education Department, re-organization of the Directorate of School Education etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Arunesh Kumar demanded that the burning problems of Plus 2 community be resolved at earliest. He stressed for the adjustment of the newly promoted lecturers and filling up of the vacancies of various cadres of School Education Department for better results.
He also demanded running grade in favour of Plus 2 community and DDO powers to the Assistant Secretary of JKBOSE of Sub Office Udhampur.
He appealed the Minister for Youth Services and Sports for allotting the rest of 194 posts of Lecturers lying in the Administrative Department to the plus 2 schools and referring the same to the PSC for early recruitment.
