Plus 2 Lecturers Forum highlights demands

UDHAMPUR, Dec 25: The monthly meeting of the District Udhampur unit of All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum was held here today under the chairmanship of Ashok Sharma, District president.
In the meeting, speakers demanded that around 5000 incharge incumbents in the School Education Department, awaiting their regularization for varying periods of time, be regularized at the earliest .They also demanded introduction of Commerce as stream in more schools and creation of more posts of lecturers in Commerce in schools.
They rued the inordinate delay of DSEJ in sanctioning the deputation of those Principals, lecturers, masters, teachers who were engaged for taking extra classes during summer breaks. Deputation of such officers/officials be sanctioned at the earliest to accord them the benefit of earned leave, they added.
The meet also questioned the timing of the conduct of training of Principals, Headmasters and teachers, especially of Schools falling in summer zone at the peak of the session, thus adversely affecting the studies of the students. The Government should publish the Academics Calendar, Activity Calendar, Examinations Calendar, Vacations Calendar, Trainings schedule etc. at the beginning of the session and training of all the teaching staff be invariably conducted in summer/winter vacations, the speakers said and also demanded construction of Examination Halls on priority basis.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Sharma asked the Government to concede all the demands of the Forum.
Others, who spoke on the occasion, included Arunesh Kumar, Joginder Gupta, Ram Murti, Ashwani Kumar, Verinder Kumar, Mohan Lal and Bishan Sharma.
