SRINAGAR, Dec 25: Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today accused Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti of implementing RSS agenda and sought explanation from the Government as to why “Identification Certificates” not required during last seventy years are required to be issued now.
Saying that right from day one Mehbooba Government has been creating controversies in the name of so called Sainik Colonies, Kashmiri Pandit Transit Camps and Industrial Policy granting permission to no State Subjects, Vakil asked Mehbooba to explain the reasons for doing so. Reminding Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti that she repeatedly sought a chance to work for the Confidence Building Measures (CBM’s) on Kashmir during last six months of unrest but her Government has now created an unwanted huge controversy by issuing Identification Certificates to West Pakistan Refugees (WPR’s) which is completely unnecessary because they have already got their identity as they vote in Lok Sabha Elections. Vakil was addressing a workers convention at dak bungalow Sopore.
Vakil said that both ruling PDP and main opposition NC have eroded different provisions of Article 370 only to deflect attention of the successive Central Governments from the ground realities in Kashmir and induced corruption even in the highest institutions of governance just to amass wealth and accumulate assets illegally. Vakil said that present Coalition Government has proved itself as a sister concern of National Conference in respect of shielding and encouraging corruption and both the parties seem to have been in an undeclared and secret pact to protect each other from any action of Law.
He said that if PDP-BJP Government would have been seriously and wholeheartedly against irregularities and corruption it should have not wasted time in ordering a time bound probe in purchase of substandard pipes, 80% non-existent SSA School buildings as well as other infamous embezzlements and scams reported during tenure of previous regime.
Vakil lambasted current Government for rendering Accountability Commission defunct and dallying the inquiries into allegations of corruption pending against Ministers, Ex-Minister or Legislators etc.
Vakil stressed upon Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to withdraw “Identification Certificates” issues to (WPR’s) forthwith and start working on (CBM’s) on Kashmir and announce a high level probe by a Supreme Court Judge to investigate the corruption cases pending against sitting legislators including those holding the offices and Ex. legislators including those who worked as ministers in previous regimes.
Besides others who addressed the gathering include senior leaders Ghulam Nabi Shah, Haji Mohammad Afzal Khan, Pandit Brij Nath Nehru, Trilok Singh, G.M Shagoo and several others.
