UDHAMPUR, Mar 6: All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum, in a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Ashok Sharma, district president of the Forum, expressed concern over exam date sheet for Higher Secondary Part (HSP)-1, Summer Zone, issued by JKBOSE.
The members said that Term 2 session of HSP-1 started on January 16 this year and the BOSE is going to start exams from April 2. Thus, a period of only about two and a half months has been provided to the teachers to teach the syllabus of Term 2 and deliver the prescribed lectures.
“Moreover, recently orders have been issued by various CEOs reportedly on the directions of Minister for Education that on the days of the Board Exams of 10th and 12th, the schools where the centres for these exams have been constituted, will remain closed for the students and the staff”, they pointed out, adding, as a result the teaching learning activities in such schools have been severely affected as the working days of such schools have been further reduced drastically.
“Thus, the students have been left with very little time to prepare for their 2nd Terminal Test and in case their syllabus is not properly covered, they are likely to suffer in the long run as a significant number of questions in the screening test for various Competitive Exams for professional courses after 12th pertain to the syllabus of the 11th class”, they maintained.
The members requested the Secretary JKBOSE to review the said date sheet and issue a revised date sheet starting Term 2 exams from around 20th of April and give a break of at least one day before each paper in the date sheet so that students can prepare for their T2 exams quite well.
