JAMMU, Nov 22: Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (PLS) Jammu today organized a literary programme to release the Punjabi poetry book titled ‘Hoye Apne Kinjh Paraaye’ written by S. Bhupinder Singh Bhargawa, a well known satire poet of the State. S. Charanjeet Singh Khalsa, MLC was the chief guest on this occasion.
Dr. Arvinder Singh Aman, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages presided over the programme. Dr. Baljeet Kaur, HoD Punjabi, University of Jammu was the special guest on this occasion. Dr. Monojit, president (PLS), Bhupinder Singh Bhargawa and Dr. Baljeet Singh Raina, well known theatre, TV and film personality and writer shared the dais. A large number of intellectuals, writers and artist were present in the programme. Dr. Monojit, president PLS read the welcome address.
Anuradha Sharma and Dr. Baljeet Singh Raina read out their papers on the life and work of Bhargawa and the content of the book. Dr. Baljeet Singh Raina said that though the book is the maiden publication by Bhupinder Bhargawa but a good attempt to convey his vision. The contents referred in the poems are related to the society and contemporary issues like corruption, globalization, feticide and other issues.
Amrik Singh Reen, S. Teja Singh Advocate, Adv. Z A Kzmi and Pritpal Singh Betab, noted Urdu poet expressed their views about Bhargawa who reflects simplicity of the writer.
Earlier Master Pranvat Singh recited a poem from the book. Speaking on this occasion S. Bhargawa Singh expressed views on his process of writing poetry. He said the roots of his family are connected with the writer community. He tracked down the developments at various age groups.
In his presidential address, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn said that the poetry of Bhupinder Singh Bhargawa’ justifies the content of the title. He said that Bhupinder Singh is having a rich heritage of writers in his maternal parentage.
The chief guest of the programme S. Charanjeet Singh Khalsa appreciated the efforts made by PLS to project the Punjabi literature by organizing literary programmes and book release functions.
Dr. Baljeet Kaur, HoD Punjabi, JU complimented Bhargawa for his satire on the ills of the society. Dr. Baljeet Singh Raina, general secretary, PLS conducted the proceedings of the programme. S. Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik, former president, PLS extended the vote of thanks.
