PLS-J releases book ‘Jammu-Kashmir Di Punjabi Kahani’

JAMMU, Jan 3: Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (PLS) here today organized function at K.L Saigal Hall and released Punjabi book titled ‘Jammu-Kashmir Di Punjabi Kahani’ edited by Navdeep Kaur.
Dr. Baljeet Kaur, HoD, Department of Punjabi, University of Jammu was the chief guest whereas Khalid Hussain, Sahit Akademi Awardee and veteran Punjabi writer was special guest on this occasion.
Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, JKAACL presided over the function while S. K Sharma, (Retd. IT Commissioner) also shared the dais.
In welcome address, Dr. Baljeet Singh Raina, general secretary, PLS-J gave a brief account of activities being undertaken by the Sabha in Jammu.
In her address Dr. Baljeet Kaur appreciated the Sabha for promoting and contributing a lot in the field of Punjabi literature in J&K and in the mainstream Punjabi literature as well.
She added that books like Jammu-Kashmir Di Kahani authored by Navdeep Kaur, a young writer, is a healthy sign for regional Punjabi literary world.
In his address Khalid Hussain said Punjabi writers of J&K are excelling in creative writings in Punjabi literature across the country and abroad.
Earlier Rajvir Singh, a scholar of Ph. D at Department of Punjabi, University of Jammu & Assistant Editor of Aabru (Punjabi) presented a paper on the released book.
Ajit Singh Mastana, renowned writer from Kashmir, Ravinder Singh, former Director, JKBOSE, S.K Sharma and Navdeep Kaur, author of the book also expressed their views.
Proceedings of the programme were conducted by S. Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Sheeraza Punjabi and S. Charan Singh extended vote of thanks.
