Sir,
I, on behalf of the Unemployed Dental Graduates of Jammu and Kashmir, want to bring to your kind notice the miserable position of so called ‘Dental doctors’ in the state. For more than last ten years, there have been nil vacancies for the dentists of Jammu and Kashmir as if there is no further requirement of Dental Surgeons in the state and on the other side there was a mushrooming of medicos undergoing dental studies within and outside the state during this period, resulting in thousands of unemployed dental graduates in J&K. It will be much better if the Government of Jammu and Kashmir could withheld and withdraw the dental studies in J&K, rather than making the graduates to pass through a unemployment stress in future.
During the rule of previous government in Jammu and Kashmir, we were compelled to beg on roads, go for strike, hunger strike in Jammu and Kashmir divisions. We were given full assurances and promises for being absorbed, but all proved false and empty.
We, all the Unemployed Dental Graduates, request the Health Minister and the present Government of J&K, to look into the matter and kindly give us an opportunity to serve our society.
Yours etc…
Dr Sapna Pathania (BDS),
Kathua
