Plea to DyCM

The residents of Adarsh Vihar, Sainik Colony Sector-B, Deeli, express their resentment over your complete silence towards our several representations and Eight regd. speed post reminders requesting for creation of additional sub-stn./Transformer of 100 KVA which is required very urgently in view of the over loading at the existing transformer of 250 KVA installed at R.K. Mandir Chowk Deeli, Adarsh Vihar. The residents are experiencing hardships due to low-voltage frequent tripping and fluctuations. The area is fully metered and paying a handsome amount of revenue to the department and accordingly, deserve proper supply of electricity, but for the last 2 years the residents have been suffering, but no official of PDD cares for the people grievance. The matter was also brought into the notice of Chief Engr. Elect. maintenance R.E.wing, Canal Power House, Jammu and Development Commissioner (Power) Power Development J&K Jammu/Srinagar, but no action so far has been initiated.
The matter was also brought into the notice of Hon’ble speaker of J&K Assembly and MLA of Gandhi Nagar Constituency Mr Kavinder Gupta on 15-04-2015 where upon he assured that the issue would be resolved very soon, but we are very sorry to say that nothing so far, has been done and the residents still have been suffering enormously, what more the residents can expect from the Ministers and P.D. Department officials. Tall hollow claims and lofty slogans are made by the Ministers in their meetings with the people that their grievances/issues would be addressed properly and promptly, but the residents of the area are suffering for the last 2 years.
Even we have also approached the Public Grievances Team of BJP Jammu office, but nothing has been done so far, It is once again requested the Minister for PDD for an early redressal of our issue.

Repair Katra-Reasi road
I would like to draw the attention of J&K State Govt. towards the worst condition of Katra-Reasi road for vehicular traffic for most of its length. The vast portion of road is badly uprooted at various points. The road is a major connecting link to a vast hilly area District and onwards to other most important strategic locations. Apart from its historical importance this road serves the purpose of many tourists who visit well renowned tourist destinations like Baba Jitoo, Nao Pindi, Shivkhori, Kalika Mandir and Bhim Garh Fort Reasi. It is a matter of concern for the authorities that what impression do outside tourists carry about our roads when at least Shiv Khori has gained fame at National level.
The condition of this road for Reasi from Katra was far better about fifteen years ago when Salal Project was in its golden age, but after the completion of this power project nobody paid any attention towards this road. The BRO/GREF has undertaken the up-gradation work of this road and the progress is far less than slow to the extent that the renovated portion gets uprooted till the next is taken up for repair. We hope present Govt will take up this issue on priority for the welfare of people of Reasi.

Complete PHE scheme Salehri
The head hangs in shame when complaint regarding inordinate delay in completion and operationalisation of the above mentioned scheme is repeatedly made and the authorities concerned bother not to expedite needful action. Over ten years back work was started on it but the project couldn’t enable the public here to have drinking water, a need which not only the human beings feel, even any living being can’t escape from the sufferings where it is non-existent. Perhaps, something is wrong in the system, otherwise, such a delay, especially for water like schemes, can’t be morally justified. Excuses of administrative/financial bottlenecks if any can’t be entertained, particularly, in the essential services, patching all the differences, the Deptt. is prayed again to complete the scheme expeditiously and earn good wishes of those who still carry pitchers on head for drinking water.

Surankote road turned into death traps
I draw the kind attention of Public Work Department, that around 3 kilometers road from Surankote to Sanai is in pathetic condition, creating problems for locals. Due to rains, the road becomes slippery, making it hard for vehicles to ply over it. If anybody falls ill, it takes many hours to shift him to hospital. Besides, the school going children also face hardships. Locals have demanded early black topping of road to avoid any untoward incident.

Repair Subash Nagar road
The road passing through Subash Nagar Via Paloura is not traffic worthy as many pot-holes have surfaced all along the road. It is quite difficult to negotiate these puddles while driving on this road. The drive remains quite nightmarish and bone breaking. The road is repaired time and again, but the repair work done is usually shoddy. The Municipal authorities are requested to get this road repaired at the earliest.

Traffic chaos at Ambphalla crossing
The B C road from Ambphalla to Hari Niwas Palace is riddled with pot-holes and puddles and as such is traffic unworthy. During morning hours, it is total chaos here as many buses and matadors remain stranded here for pretty long times to look for Udhampur or Katra bound passengers. Thus it is a traffic jam here, a traffic jam there.
Recently, the path work done in shoddy manner caused damage to the my vehicle underneath as the lose stones on the road hit it.
So it is requested to Municipal authorities as well as to the traffic police to monitor the situation closely at this point so that traffic would streamlined and people will get relieved of the prolonged traffic jams.

Dengue scare
Time again one comes across news items regarding outbreak of diseases in recent times. In the latest winter months of January to March 2015 we encountered “Swine flu” throughout the latitudes and longitudes of India including our State. Presently most of the Northern States and particularly Delhi is witnessing “Dengue” outbreak. These diseases not only cause a huge burden of illness among masses but death also. People in panic rush towers already overburdened health care system whether Govt or private sector and seek treatment. It is because of the easy availability of the healthcare to the masses or better health seeking behaviours? It could be both. What is the role of media in creating this hysteria. In early times also disease outbreak occurred with a huge mortality But the panic was not there. The scarcity of the health care institutions poor health seeking behaviours and absence of 24×7 electronic media contributed to it and did not permit the situation to arise.
I am not a medical expert, I ponder over and try to analyze why me get outbreak of these diseases in modern times? Why, we are ill prepared to handle the situation even in 21st century. Exponential growth in population, migration to urban areas, poor living conditions put more people in conflict with disease causing organisms. Growth of healthcare has not kept pace with the demands of this ever increasing sea of humanity. We should learn from our experiences, anticipate these disease outbreaks and plan the structure and function of our healthcare system so as to mitigate the suffering of the masses.
