I had been to Mumbai for some time. During my stay there, it was observed that with a view to achieving objective of Swachh State, the Corporation has introduced of some types of dustbins for different purposes at desired locations. For example: one was to be used for disposal of ‘Kalash ‘-exclusively (containing used flower /garlands and other related items)
In the absence of such arrangements, people have no option but to throw items connected with the rituals indiscriminately in river Tawi , canal or single container provided by JMC lying on the road side, or in lanes and drains which not only adds to the huge quantum of waste already deposited there but gets mixed up with the filth and all this is against the ethics of religious sentiments as well during the festival days especially. In the light of above facts, it is earnestly requested that Jammu Municipal Corporation may consider installation of the specific containers at different positions with inscription for guidance of the people so as to restore sacredness of the belief/rituals followed by the society and make polluted free environment as best as possible.
