Plays ‘Suno Eh Kahani’, ‘Great Expectations’ staged

JAMMU, Sept 22: Theatre group Natrang here today presented two plays ‘Suno Eh Kahani’ in Dogri written and directed by Balwant Thakur and ‘Great Expectations’ in English based on a novel of Charles Dickens, adapted and directed by Aaushi Thakur Rana.
The play ‘Suno Eh Kahani’ was based on the story of a young girl ‘Guddi’ representing a major section of rural lower middle class adolescent young girls, who are forced into matrimony at a very tender age. Guddi is fully aware of the strains of early marriage, as it has taken its toll in untimely death of her mother. She wants to grow and get educated before she takes up the responsibility of married life.
Artists who performed in the play were Anil Tickoo, Sanjeev Gupta, Suresh Kumar, Neeraj Kant, Mohd Yaseen, Shivam Singh, Aarti Devi, Shivam Singh, Zeeshan Haider, Manoj Lalotra and Ajay Lalotra.
Second play ‘Great Expectations’ presented before us a very vivid picture of the early Victorian era and the progress of ‘Pip’ from childhood through often painful experiences to adulthood is presented before the audience. He encounters various people in this journey and few become a part of his life leaving a dramatic impact on him.
The artists who performed in the play included Mahikshit Singh, Anam Malik, Gauri Thakur, Samarthya Gupta, Anam Malik, Manoj Lalotra, Vanshika Gupta, Zeeshan Haider, Sushant Singh Charak, Sanket Bhagat, Sumedha Manhas, Saanvi Anand, Ajay Lalotra, Aafaque Khan and Sheetal Jadhan.
The supporting staff included Shivam Singh, Mohd Umar, Sumeet Sharma, Mohd Yaseen, Gopi Sharma, Shivam Sharma, Kuldeep Angral, Vrinda Sharma, Meenakshi Bhagat and Deepali Sharma.
