Play ‘Adalat Mein Gandhi’ staged

JAMMU, Oct 3: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, here today staged the play ‘Adalat Mein Gandhi’.
The play was written and directed by Rajneesh Gupta and was a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary.
S.K Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, who was the chief guest on this occasion, while addressing said that teachings of Mahatma Gandhi will always remain relevant for the mankind.
The play throws light on the troubled relationship between Mahatma Gandhi with his eldest son, Harilal Gandhi who almost lost the charm in his life when Gandhi preferred nation to his family.
All the benefits which as per Harilal, were his own rights went to the nation leaving the family of Gandhi in lurch but at the end, everybody realized that life is not to enjoy its luxuries but to live for others and in this way Gandhi was supreme and so were his teachings.
Artists who performed in the play were Pawan Verma, Meera Tapasvi, Balwinder Singh, Ankush Bhasin, Rupali Gupta, Apoorva Sharma and Vikrant Khajuria.
Music in the play was given by Tarun Charak, Make-up was done by Dr. Kamal Sharma and Lights were designed by Tara Chand.
