JAMMU,  Feb 1:  The 75th Raising Day of Army Dental Corps was celebrated by 16 Corps Dental Unit  here today.
The occasion was graced by the General Officer Commanding 16 Corps, Lt Gen  RR Nimbhorkar, veterans and other officers of 16 Corps and Tiger Division. The General Officer congratulated the Commanding Officer and his team for the state of the art multispecialty facility.
The GOC gifted a 42” LED TV for the welfare of troops of the unit. The unit not only provides specialist dental care to troops and families at Jammu and Nagrota garrison but also to the troops in far- flung areas through mobile dental vans.
The platinum jubilee celebration included Veterans’ dental on January 10,  where comprehensive dental check up and treatment was provided to the veterans and their dependents. A blood donation camp was organised, wherein troops of the unit donated blood.
Apart from this, an information education campaign and lectures on oral health were organised in schools at  Nagrota and Jammu cantonment. As part of the celebrations,  a painting and essay competition was also organized in the unit for the children and families.
