Planning Deptt employees observe strike

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, May  14:   The Statistical Employees (Planning, Development  and Monitoring Department) observed one day pen down strike  today throughout the State to register their protest against the non-resolution of  their long pending demands.
The major demands included cadre progression and cadre review at the Non-Gazetted level of the department including first gazette level,  removal of pay anomalies/disparities at the level of KPOs/JSAs/SAs,  amendment in  Recruitment Rules of the year 1975,  trainings/ examinations at the entry level only in respect of direct entrants (JSAs/SAs) in the service on the analogy of GAD Cadre, conduct of regular DPCs in respect of the NG employees of Economics & Statistics Organization,  conduct of regular trainings to the staff followed by exams and declaration of results in a time bound manner,  cadre progression and cadre review of the Ministerial staff of the Department,  creation of Planning & Statistical Employees Welfare Fund etc.
It was impressed upon the authorities by the president of Non-Gazetted Statistical Employees Association (NGSEA) that pen down strike of one day observed by planning fraternity is just a token strike for redressal of the genuine issues of the Planning Cadre and were seriously impressed upon authorities that if the issues are not settled in near future, the situation may take an ugly turn and the whole Planning fraternity may go on indefinite strike.
