JAMMU, June 2:  The Jammu & Kashmir Agriculture Technocrats Association (JKATA) has urged upon the State Government to place Village Agriculture Extension Assistants (VAEAs) as Junior Agriculture Extension Officers (JAEOs) in the State Agriculture Department.
In a meeting of the members of the Association  held here today,  its president Dr Surinder Radotra  said that the minimum educational qualification for both the posts/ designations is same as BSc Agriculture and therefore,  the VAEAs be placed or designated as Junior Agriculture Extension Officers.  He further demanded that their temporary service of seven years as REZ should also be included in the service as many of them have turned over aged and even crossed 40 years of age. Their service benefits will be on very lower side. In case of RETs, this service is being included in the service.
The Association leader further demanded  the reconsideration/ review of  the pay scale mentioned in the Cabinet order from Pay band of Rs 9300-34800 with the applicable pay of Rs 4200 to pre-revised pay band of  Rs 6500-10500+ GP 4200, post revised pay band of Rs 9300-34800 with applicable grade of  Rs 4280.
They appealed to the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, DyCM Dr Nirmal Singh and Agriculture Minister Mr Lone to look into the matter and consider their most genuine and justified demand.
Prominent among others present in  the meeting included – Manjit Singh, Jyoti Chib, Prakashveer Singh, Anees Sohail, Mehboob Malik, Vinod Sharma, Rajesh Gupta and Pawan Bali.
