PK, social activists warn vested elements

JAMMU, May 2: President Panun Kashmir (PK) Virender Raina and prominent social activists Ashok Kangan, Hira Lal Bhat and Bushan Lal Bhat today cautioned the community against the canards being spread by some vested interests who are hell bent to create a confusion among the people.
They were addressing a meeting of the community members and some prominent social activists at Barnai yesterday which was organised by Durga Nag Trust. The meeting was chaired by BJP Kissan Morcha leader, Omi Khajuria.
While expressing concern that some vested elements are hell bent to malign the image of the community by spreading canards and misinformation campaign asked them to desist from such activities. They reiterated the community’s demand of constituting a Shrine Board for the Hindu Temples and Shrines in Valley to protect their property. They warned those people who are trying to grab the shrines land or property and urged the community to stand a watchdog against the same.
Virender Raina and Ashok Kangan said instead of working for betterment of the community and development of age old shrines in Valley some vested elements are creating a confusion just to grab this property which will not be allowed at any cost.
They said it is unfortunate that despite the repeated pleas by the community and a vigorous campaign launched by Pt Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust for constitution of Temples and Shrines Board in Kashmir, the Government was adopting the delaying tactics with the result the vested elements have made it a free for all affair. They said the Government must ensure the safety and security of age old shrines and temples in the Valley and act against such elements who have no locus standi in interfering in their management or working. The secretary DNT Dr R L Dhar, its trustees Kuldeep Raina, M K Jalalai and Avtar Krishan were also present in the meeting. The meeting among others was attended by I K Raina, Chand Ji Khar of Vitasta Samaj Sewa, Satish Ji, Ravi Bhat, Kaka Ji Bhan, Sunil Pandita social activists from Jagti, Bushan Lal, Sarpanch Mahesh Dhar, Shadi Lal, Mohan Lal president Sarswati Vihar and others.
