PIL on unauthorized construction takes new turn

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Apr 9: The much publicized Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against alleged illegal construction by the land mafia took new turn with Division Bench comprising Chief Justice M M Kumar and Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar issuing notices to the wife and son of the petitioner asking them to show cause as to why penal proceedings be not initiated against them under various provisions of law.
In the earlier directions, the DB had asked for producing a CD containing conversation of petitioner Naresh Gupta demanding money from the private respondents for withdrawing PIL.
While issuing notices to the wife and son of the petitioner, the DB observed, “the CD doesn’t contain conversation of petitioner and others. However, there are allegations against his wife Rajni Gupta and son Anshu Gupta”.
Advocate Rakesh Sharma accepted notice on behalf of Rajni Gupta and Anshu Gupta.
