UDHAMPUR, Apr 2: A meeting of District Executive bodies of PHE Employees Association (PHEEA) of both Udhampur and Reasi districts was held here at PHE complex, wherein the speakers highlighted various demands including release of pending wages of PHE workers.
The meeting chaired by vice-president, PHEEA, Jammu province, Som Nath, who discussed various demands of the Association including meeting shortage of staff in the department, holding DPC meeting as early as possible, change of designation of workers as per nature of working and enhancement of daily wages from Rs 150 to Rs 350.
Addressing the workers, Som Nath urged the Government for early release of pending wages of PHE workers on priority basis.
He also urged the Government to release 10% DA from January 2014 as per Central Government pattern, give priority to regularization of daily wagers instead of making direct recruitment, circulation of list of workers engaged in the department and regularization of all ITI workers having completed five years of services.
The speakers also demanded the Government to revise the sanctioned strength of the PHE Department, which they alleged has not been revised since creation of divisions since 40-50 years back.
Besides, they demanded creation of new posts in the department and classification of workers in only two categories- regular employees and permanent daily wagers.
The speakers also appealed the employees of Jammu province to remain united for their cause and protect themselves from self styled leaders.
Those who spoke on the occasion were General secretary, Udhampur Unit, Vijay Kumar Sharma, district president, Reasi Unit, Baldev Raj, Jagdish Raj Magotra, Shiv Lal Sharma, Subhash Chander, Chuni Lal, Dara Singh, Bharat Singh, Luxman Singh, Amardev Singh, Ved Parkash, Janait Ali, Kuldeep Kumar, Bansi Lal, Rajinder Kumar, Shamsher Singh and many others.
