Addressing a press conference here at PHE’s Kothi Bagh office, President of the Association, Sajad Ahmad Parray said that the casual labourers, land donors, daily wagers and others have decided to launch a Valley-wide agitation to press for their demands from January 7.
Parray said that in this regard the forum has decided to lock down all the offices district wise from January 07-15 to mark a protest against the Government for failing to come up to the expectations of the casual labourers, daily wagers and land donors.
He said that the Government has totally ignored them at all fronts. “Governor Satya Pal Malik led administration has even ignored the department in the recent Budget as well,” he said.
Parray told reporters that all the promises done with the casual labourers, land donors and daily wagers by the successive Governments including Governor led administration proved ‘hoax’ as not even a single promise was fulfilled so far, thus leaving thousands of employees to suffer.
He said the files for regularization of casual labourers, daily wagers or land donors are gathering dust in different offices. “We appeal the authorities to fulfill our demands at an earliest,” he said.
He informed that on January 7, 2019 all the offices, sub offices and others will be locked down by the employees in Baramulla district while as on January 8, 2019 all the offices will be locked down in Budgam district. “On January 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, all the offices in Bandipora, Kupwara, Ganderbal, Anantnag, Kulgam and Srinagar respectively will be locked down, while as on January 12, the offices in Shopian and Pulwama besides Anantnag will be locked down to mark a protest in favour of our demands,” he said.
