The speakers criticized the J&K Administration for its failure to resolve the pending issues of the PHE workers. They pointed out that daily wagers are waiting for their regularization since long. Many of them are unpaid for the last over 56-58 months while they are not getting their wages regularly. The Government must arrange their salary month wise.
The angry workers were also shouting slogans against the Chief Engineer PHE Jammu, concerned Commissioner / Secretary, Advisor and the UT Administration. They alleged that due non-payment of their wages, many workers were facing starvation. They said even the GP Fund cases of the retired or other employees are not being settled.
The senior leaders warned that if the Administration failed to address their issues before Sept 22, 2020, the United Front will be forced to launch agitation and suspend entire work. They regretted no coverage of the PHE field employees under Covid-19 insurance like Health employees.
