JAMMU, June 2: J&K PHE ITI Trained and CP Workers Union today observed a strike to press their demand for immediate framing of a policy for their regularization.
They staged a demonstration in front of Press Club here.
Addressing the protesters, Tanveer Hussain, Association president criticized the State Government for delaying their long pending demand of their regularization. He said that the State Government has been engaged the ITI trained casual labour vide Government Cabinet decision no.116/4 dated 11-05-2006 and CP workers and need base workers who are working from last 15-20 years but till date Government had failed to frame a policy for their regularization.
He added that it is totally against the youth employment policy.
The president said that “ we the trained (casual labour) employees of PHE Department appeal to the Government that our genuine demands be considered and casual labour employees be regularized. He said that next central body meeting will be held on June 10th and decide next course of action.
Other who were present in the demonstration were Subash Chander, Deepak Gupta, Munish Abrol, Ripan Singh, Manjeet Singh, Chandan Singh, Sumit and Dushyant Sudan.
