JAMMU, Jan 24: All J&K PHE ITI Trained and CP Workers Association today held a massive Ekta rally at Akhnoor for highlighting concerns of the members with regard to some lacunas in the SRO 520 for regularization of 60,000 daily wagers and other employees of the State.
The rally was led by Tanveer Hussain, president All J&K PHE ITI Trained and CP Workers Association and participated by Akhnoor division daily wagers under the leadership of Pardeep Sharma, president Division Akhnoor.
Addressing the rally, Tanveer said that there were  still many lacunas in the SRO issued as many ITI trained, land donors, Seasonal Workers and CP Workers have been  deprived benefit of the said SRO because of its criteria for regularization. He said that the Government had not provided any other benefits like DA, Medical Allowance, HRA and time bound promotions for the daily wagers and others included in said SRO. He further said that Government had fixed a cap of one kanal for land donors but what about those land donors who have donated 15 marlas, 16 marlas free of cost land to Government. He took strong exception of making ITI recognized diploma compulsory to be considered as skilled workers. He said that Government should immediately open the online portal for the left out daily wagers who because of some genuine issues were unable to upload their records. He demanded that the Government should also provide benefits of SRO to kin of those daily wagers and other temporary employees who lost their lives during their service period.
Deepak Gupta (vice president of the Association) said that the Government should amend the SRO issued and provide them all benefits at par with regular Government employees. He warned that the Association would l not allow Government to play with the future of those daily wagers who have given half of their life for the department.
“According to this SRO, we will be paid a fixed consolidated salary but what about the pay commission implementation on the employees engaged under this said SRO. Government should also clear the stand for employees whose service period is less than 10 years and inform  whether they will be paid every month or they will have to starve for their salaries like in past?” he asked..
Pardeep Sharma, Subash Rakhwal, Bhanu Partap, Sanjeev Thakur and others also addressed the rally.
