PHE employees warn agitation

JAMMU, Feb 24: Kashmir PHE Employees Federation today warned agitation in case Government failed to implement the order No 741 of 1991 in Kashmir Division regarding rationalisation of pay scales in revised set up of the field staff and regularisation of posts. The chairman of the Federation Ghulam Ahmed Nath and district president Low Paid Employees Federation Anantnag Abdul Rashid Bhat while addressing a meeting of the employees here said that the Government was un necessarily creating a wedge among the employees in the State with its discriminative policies.
They said the State being one unit, the Government is bound to take decision for the welfare and betterment of employees in all the three regions of the State in a uniform way.
They said by not implementing the order in Kashmir Valley there was a lot of resentment among the working class in PHE.
The meeting in an appeal to PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Minister Sham Lal Sharma urged him to issue directives to Chief Engineer PHE Kashmir to submit the proposal in this regard at an earliest.
It said the issue was also discussed with the authorities in Finance Department and a proposal was recast in light of the deliberations of the meetings with Finance Department.
The meeting also alleged that 1363 daily rated workers engaged prior to ban and after putting continuously 17 years of service in the Department have not been regularized yet after submitting all the documents relating to their regularization in terms of SRO 64. It demanded their immediate regularization also.
