POONCH, Apr 23: The PHE workers held protest dharna at the Division office in support of their demands here today.
The employees under the banner of Water Works Employees Association (WWEA), launched protest dharna the other day.
The protest was held under the leadership of Association president, Faiz Akbar Chowan. Vijay Tandon , Bharat Bhushan, Shah Mohd, Abdul Majeed and Mohd Yousuf were also present. Employees from Mendhar, Surankote, Mandi, Loran, Bafliaz, Haveli and other far flung areas participated.
The employees raised slogans in favour of their demands. Chowan while addressing the protesters appealed to the concerned Minister Sukhnandan Chowdhary to address the genuine long pending demands of the PHE employees.
The demands included release of pending wages, regularization of daily wagers and need base workers, ITI diploma holders, release of pending DA and enhancement of wages.
