JAMMU, Feb 28: The Water Works (PHE) Employees Association has demanded release of 17 % DA and regularisation of daily wagers and other consolidated employees.
In a meeting of the Association held here today under the chairmanship of Shiv Kumar Sharma, provincial president of the Association/ INTUC state chief, all the members present from Jammu district projected the pending issues of the employees and workers. They urged upon the State Government to regularize all the daily rated/ consolidated workers and also release 17 % DA in favour of State employees and pensioners.
Mr Sharma alleged that many PHE workers have not been paid for the last over 24 to 30 months. He said that despite repeated requests to the higher authorities, the issues of the PHE workers have remained unsolved. He also demanded early conduct of DPC, enhance minimum wages up to Rs 350 per day, creation of new posts and merger of 50 % DA in the basic pay.
