SAMBA, Sept 28: PHE daily wagers staged a protest demonstration against the Department at Nandni Hill, the district headquarters here, today.
The protesters said that neither the Government is formulating any policy to regularise them nor are the salaries of the daily wagers are being released. In this era of inflation, it is difficult to even manage their household expenses. In such a situation, the Government will have to consider their legitimate demands.

The PHE daily wagers shouted slogans in support of their demands and demanded that a concrete policy should be made for their regularisation. They said that there are thousands of posts vacant in various departments which can easily be filled up by regularising services of daily wagers.
Protestor Ranjit Singh said that every time they are being assured that the demand will be settled but nothing has been done in this regard till date nor their salaries were paid. He said that it has become difficult to make their both ends meet and the daily wagers who have not been paid salaries are at the verge of starvation. He demanded that their demand of regularisation be settled immediately and the pending wagers of daily rated workers be released without any delay.
The PHE daily wagers warned that if their demands were not met soon, they would be forced to intensify the movement.
Among those who joined the protest included Kulbushan Singh, Ranjit Singh, Rampal, Satpal, Fakir Chand, Bittu, Bobby, Rakesh Jogi, Deepak and Shindi Kumar etc.
