POONCH, Aug 16: The PHE daily wagers, Community Participation (CP) & ITI trained workers besides those offered land for pumping and PHE stations in Mendhar Sub Division today held protest demonstration against the PHE authorities for non-release of their wages and not regularizing their services.
About 150 temporary workers of the PHE department of this area assembled near Dak Bungalow Mendhar and then started protest march towards PHE complex Mendhar. After holding protest demonstration there for some time, then the protesting workers moved towards the office of SDM Mendhar. They were demanding their pending wages from 36 to 42 months. They demanded that all the workers be regularized and land cases should also be cleared without any delay.
The workers led by Zulfkar Khan, submitted a memorandum to Tehsildar as SDM was not present and requested them to forward to the PHE, I&FC Minister for the consideration. After brief protest at SDM office, the workers dispersed.
