JAMMU, Sept 14: The National president, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), Anil Khaitan accompanied by National secretary general designate Dr Mahesh Y Reddy, Director States Rohit Kumar, Chairman Jammu Region Chapter Vikrant Kuthiala and others called on Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly Dr Nirmal Singh here today and discussed a wide range of issues including developmental projects of Jammu, future investment possibilities in J&K and creation of employment opportunities in the region.
Khaitan pointed out that it is very important that special packages which are being given to North Eastern states be given to J&K as well so that more and more business activity may be started here and if explored properly, Jammu region being close to rest of India and road network being good can be made as hub of business activity and for that we have already taken up this matter with Centre but want that State may also pursue so that it may reach the logical conclusion.
Dr Singh while speaking on the occasion appreciated the role of PHDCCI Jammu Region Chapter in acting as a bridge between the Centre and State Governments and the State business community and elaborated in detail series of steps taken by the previous Government in this behalf and said that the Jammu & Kashmir, is going to be a huge beneficiary of the Central Developmental plan in coming days. He said State is expecting that there should be representation from apolitical chambers like PHDCCI as a knowledge and research chamber for developmental plan and ideas for J&K state. The Speaker emphasized the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other leading trade organizations of India to encourage entrepreneurship and welfare projects in J&K.
Vikrant Kuthiala and Rakesh Wazir while speaking on the occasion elaborated in detail the series of steps taken by the Chamber for bringing more and more people to the state including Ambassadors Conclave at Delhi, frequent meetings with Governor, Chief Minister and other high ups of the State and asked united efforts in this regard. Kuldeep Gupta extended gratitude to the Speaker for this fruitful meeting.
