PHDCCI interacts with IG BSF Jammu Frontier

JAMMU, May 31: A delegation of PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PHDCCI), Jammu Region Chapter, called on IG BSF, Jammu Frontier. N S Singh, at his Frontier Head Quarters, Jammu and discussed with him various issues.
Vikrant Kuthiala, Chairman PHDCCI Jammu Region Chapter and Kuldeep Gupta, Co-Chair along with Siddhant Choudhary and Sanjay Gupta, gave a brief to IG BSF and his team about activities carried out by PHDCCI in 2018 and how PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been serving the nation for the last 110 years, as a proactive and dynamic multi-State apex organization at the grass-root level, with strong national and international linkages.
Appreciating the efforts of PHDCCI, the IG BSF maintained that Chamber has a major role to play in the development of nation. Chamber should look at connecting with the remote population at boarder areas and should support them by skilling and making them self-sufficient, he said adding that the border guarding and monitoring is done by BSF & civilians are equally important as they act as extended arm of the defence forces.
IG BSF urged PHDCCI to proactively engage with the population at remote border area and come forward and adopt some village and help in skilling the youth and women, This can be clubbed with skilling the war widows as well, he added and stressed that the systems has to go to them and act as facilitator. He also suggested that such regular interactions should also take place at border areas of Samba and RS Pura with the locals to act as facilitator.
Kuldeep Gupta, Co- Chairman, mentioned that the Industry in J&K is dependent on raw material being procured from outside the State, thus making it difficult for local industry to stand and survive in competition with the outsiders. He requested IG BSF to guide and provide list of industrial products procured by BSF and other security agencies so that the local industry can gear up to supply the same.
Hardeep Singh, Akhileshwar Singh, Rajeev Sinha, J C Singla, Rakesh Srivastava, Vivek Bhardwaj and Aditya Vaid were among those present in the meeting.
