Mankotia urges Modi Govt to trifurcate J&K, grant Statehood to Jammu

JAMMU, May 31: Former MLA & NPP president Balwant Singh Mankotia today said that people of Jammu and Kashmir were hoping for peace and development of the State from newly formed Central Government, led by PM Narendra Modi.

While addressing a press conference, here today, Mankotia reiterated his demand of separate Statehood for both Jammu/Kashmir where as union territory status for Ladakh Divison. He said that separate Statehood is the ultimate remedy to end discrimination with Jammu region, which was going on from last 60 years in every field such as Government jobs or any developmental project.
Mankotia strongly batted for intervention by the newly formed Central Government for separate Statehood status to Jammu. He also sought revocation of the recent order of J&K Government on ban of Daily Wagers after 2010.
Highlighting all these issues and demands, Mankotia informed that Panthers Party is going to stage one- day protest dharna on June 3, outside the office of NHAI Jammu over the issue of hike in the rates of Ban Toll Plaza. He stressed that the NPP will agitate aggressively on this issue till its logical conclusion.
NPP Spokesperson Gagan Pratap Singh, Sr leader Shanker Chib and Block president Anil Rakhwal were also present during the press conference.
