PHD Chamber delegation calls on Advisor Ganai

JAMMU, June 17: A delegation of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by its Chairman Vikrant Kuthiala, along with Kuldeep Gupta Co- Chairman, Rakesh Wazir Co -Chairman and other senior members met Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, Advisor to the Governor here today.
Kuthiala briefed Advisor for early resolution of issues as Development of Tourist and Pilgrimage Circuits , early completion of ongoing Tourism related Cable Car Projects of Mahamaya Temple Bahu-Fort and Patnitop- Kud; development of Veer Bhadreshwar, Budha Amarnath, Mangla Mata, Chingus Fort, Shadra Sharief- Mughal Road Circuit besides Bani- Basholi, Sukrala Mata, Mansar- Suiransar, Doda- Kishtwar- Sinthan Pass Circuits.
They also stressed for urgent development, recommencement of works and early completion of Jammu Zoo at Nagrota, expeditious and immediate completion of long awaited Artificial Lake on Tawi River, Up- gradation of roads to Tourist destinations Mansar, Purmandal, Patnitop-Sanasar. With a view to further increase the tourism, Kuthiala suggested that a daily Chair Car train or Air-conditioned DMU be introduced for morning and evening operations between Jammu and Amritsar, as this would facilitate to and fro movement of pilgrims from Amritsar to Jammu and vice-versa. Additionally, introduction of Jammu- Delhi Shatabdi Train, Jammu-Chandigarh Shatabdi Train may also be done at the earliest. Suchetgarh-Sialkot border should also be developed on the lines of Wagah Border, he added.
Rakesh wazir urged the Advisor for his intervention for continuation of Stated Government policy of charging industrial power tariff to hotels. In hotels/banquets- service charges under GST, restaurants have been given the option of charging 5% GST without Input Tax credit. He requested that similar option be made available to hotels and banquets also. He also requested the Advisor that refund of GST as is being done to industry be done to Hotel Industry as well.
Advisor Ganai gave a patience hearing and appreciated the efforts of PHDCCI and assured that he shall look into the concerns discussed with PHDCCI and a time bound resolution shall be done.
