PET CT facility to become operational at SSH Kakryal soon

JAMMU, Feb 21: The 44th  meeting of the Governing Body of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital Kakryal, reviewed the functioning of the Super Speciality Hospital and, took several decisions to enhance its operational capacities.
Dr. S. S. Bloeria, Member Shrine Board, chaired the Governing Body meeting which was attended by B. B. Vyas, Member Shrine Board and Chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee of the Hospital; Umang Narula, Principal Secretary to the Governor and Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board; Dr. Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, Vice Chairman, MD and Group CEO, Narayana Health; and Sunil Kumar CN, Regional Director, Narayana Health.
Governing Body reviewed the to-date status regarding the setting up of PET CT facility at this tertiary care hospital and noted that the facility will be operationalised very soon. The PET CT facility, not presently available elsewhere in the Jammu region, will, interalia, immensely help in early detection of cancer. The meeting emphasized that the PERT timelines be strictly followed to operationalise the PET CT facility without delay.
Reviewing the progress on organising public outreach programmes by the hospital as part of providing free consultation services to the people nearer their homes, the Governing Body stressed that more such programmes should be conducted for the benefit of the people, particularly in the remote and far-off areas.
Governing Body also had a detailed discussion on the feedback of the patients and their attendants and stressed that prompt action should be taken on each and every suggestion as this would go a long way in continuously improving the delivery systems in the hospital.
Other matters that came up for discussion in the meeting, interalia, include early commencing of Organ Transplant Facility, visits of reputed consultants of other NH Hospitals to provide their specialist services to the Superspeciality Hospital and extending telemedicine facility to remote areas etc.
Those who also took part in the meeting included Dr. M. K. Kumar, Additional CEO of the Shrine Board; Dr. (Brig) M. M. Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer, SMVDNSH; and Manu Ramachandar, Facility Director of the hospital.
