JAMMU, June 28: Minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture, Youth Services and Sports Raman Bhalla today highlighted the importance of public cooperation for effective implementation of development schemes.
The Minister was addressing a large gathering at Lower Gaddigarh after launching Rs. 50 lakh development works in the area, here this afternoon.
He assured the residents of Lower Gaddigarh that all their development related issues would be redressed on priority basis, adding that the Government has laid focus to develop all the localities on modern lines by providing safe drinking water, power, better roads, bye-lanes, drains, besides educational and healthcare infrastructure.
Mr. Bhalla asked the executing agency to complete all the projects within stipulated time frame so that the benefits reach to people at the earliest.
Mr. Bhalla said that the Government was fully aware of hardships of weaker sections of the society and was making all out efforts to mitigate the same on priority basis. He hoped that the people will cooperate with executing agencies in effective implementation of development works in their basties.
To deal with drinking water scarcity at Lower Gaddigarh, Langer and Ambika Colony, the Minister said Government has prepared a detailed project report of Rs. 3 crore for laying of water supply pipes in peripheral areas of these localities to provide relief to the people. He said with the laying of supply pipes, the drinking water scarcity in the areas would be solved to a large extent.
Responding to local issues, the Minister informed that two revenue complex involving a cost of Rs. 1.28 crore are under progress to provide revenue related services to the people of Karan Bagh, Lower Gaddigarh, Chatha, Bhour Camp Rani Talab and old Satwari and its adjoining areas under one roof.
He assured that these would be completed within stipulated time frame.
The Minister assured the people that all their genuine demands and development needs would be fulfilled in a phased manner, adding that there was no constraint of funds in providing adequate basic amenities to the people of all the three regions of the State.
Later, the Minister also inspected construction work on PHC, Community Hall, Cremation Ground, Playfield and Tehsildar building at Lower Gaddigarh, to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 6.70 crore.
Later, Mr. Bhalla along with a team of officers visited Shri Amarnath Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar and reviewed the arrangements made by the district administration for the convenience of the yatries.
The Minister asked the officers of the Tourism Department, PHE, R&B, JMC, Revenue, Health, CAPDD and PDD to provide adequate facilities to the Shri Amarnath Yatries so that they do not face any inconvenience.
