JAMMU, Sept 28: Rakesh Mahajan, in charge BJP All Cells, J&K, today said that public welfare is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first priority, party and personal interests come later.
The senior BJP leader said that the Prime Minister has made it clear that there is no need to celebrate my birthday on September 17 every year, rather the friends and well wishers should dedicate themselves for the people’s cause during this time of the year. He said that soon after that the BJP activists and leaders started celebrating Seva Pakhwada between September 17 and September 30, by dedicating these days for public good and social service.
The BJP All Cells in charge was addressing a gathering after holding a plantation drive here at a park adjoining Fourth Bridge on River Tawi under Seva Pakhwada. The BJP All Cells conducted this drive in collaboration with DFO Urban Forest Department, Sunil Singh in which more than one hundred saplings were planted. This special drive was initiated by Mukherjee Sharma, (retd PCF) convener Education and Employee Cell.
Ved Sharma, Co in charge All Cells; Sham Langar, convener Trade and Industries; Gurbaksh Singh, convener Sainik Cell; Shiv Dev Singh, convener Panchayati Raj Cell and Pooja Malhotra co convener were also present.
Addressing the gathering, Rakesh Mahajan said that the saplings planted today will prove saviour of humanity tomorrow because trees are necessary to counter the global warming and ill effects of climate change. He said that the plantation drives of this sort are also meant for spreading awareness among the common masses because it has become imperative today to plant number of trees to save the mother planet from the evils like pollution, global warming, water scarcity, soil erosion, dearth of clean air, conservation of biodiversity, and many others.
Rakesh Mahajan said that BJP J&K has pledged to dedicate these 14 days for public good and social work. He said under the Seva Pakhwada many works have been carried out to provide succor to masses and the remaining two days will also be utilised in the same manner by enthusiastically engaging in social work like blood donation, plantation drives and other similar public welfare initiatives.
