People throng Sula Park, Siarh Baba for beating the heat

REASI, June 3: As prolonged power cuts multiply woos of the Jammuites in this scorching heat, people are thronging water spots in and around Reasi, particularly Sula Park and Siarh Baba, to beat the heat.
On Sunday, the Sula Park,  carrying underground water from nearby Anji river witnessed heavy rush of  people who were seen  enjoying bath and sitting  under the shadows of trees for cool breeze. Scores of people, especially youth and families, from Reasi, Jammu and adjourning areas and even from Kathua and Pathankot had arrived here for beating the heat by taking dips in the Sula Park and Siarh Baba.
At other places like Dhansar Baba and Nau Devi, the visitors were paying obeisance in temples besides enjoyed in natural swimming pools there.
Rameshwar from Jammu   said that arrived along with his family to the Siarh Baba as his children had developed skin problems due to the prolonged power cuts and the sizzling heat. One of my friends advised me to take bath at Siarh Baba as it is a holy waterfall which also cures skin problems,” he added.
Another visiting family from Jammu opined that Sula Park was   the best place to get relief from the heat and load shedding.  “We come here every summer to enjoy outing with the family,” they said and suggested that there should be special measures for safety and privacy for the female visitors.
Pertinent too mention that at Sula Park in Reasi, hot water come out of the stream in winters while in summer, it is cold.
Visitors complained that the Government administration had not made proper arrangements for development of these picnic spot areas, which lack parking facilities, changing rooms, bath room facilities, security issues, etc.
