AKHNOOR, Jan 6: Former minister and senior Congress leader Sham Lal Sharma today said that PDP-BJP Govt was the worst ever regime in the State and it has brought all round destruction, mistrust and miseries during their three and half years rule in the State.
Addressing public meetings at Ghar- Majoor and Kanehri in Block Chowki Choura today, Sharma said that unholy and un-natural alliance brought worst ever religion and region divide and brought miseries to people of three regions of the State because of their miss-governance. He said that the people suffered in every sphere and every field because of wrong policies of two coalition partners and raised controversies during the period on various issues.
Congress leader said that developmental projects initiated by UPA Government had not been carried forward by the PDP-BJP Government and all their claims on development proved fake and false. He said that Jammu region as a whole faced worst ever neglect and discrimination.
Sharma said development has come to a standstill and economy is in shambles, the internal security is under threat. The hopes and aspirations of the people have been shattered.
The tenure of previous PDP- BJP Govt has been full of doubts, tall promises falling flat, loud rhetoric and confusions. He said that people are absolutely disillusioned by the failure of this Govt. People had lot of expectations as there was “Modi Sarkar” in the Center but look how people continue to suffer.
“Most parts of the area are facing acute water and power crisis, but the previous Government had not taken any effective step to solve the problem,” he said.
He further pointed out that the unprecedented power and water crisis in Chowki Choura highlights the apathy of the BJP- PDP which had failed to address the issues of the people.
“The previous Govt failed to live up to the expectations of the people and address the problems of border residents, farmers, youths, employees, casual labourers and traders,” he added.
Taking a dig on BJP, Sham said development of roads, hospitals, schools, colleges and various projects could have been done in the State during last over 4 years of BJP rule but they deliberately neglected the far-flung and remote areas of the State.
