UDHAMPUR, July 22: Irate over the excess billing of electricity and worst condition of Tikri-Katra Road, the inhabitants of village Tikri, 21 kms away from here, staged a protest demonstration against PDD and PWD (R&B) Department.
The irate residents gathered at Tikri-Katra Road this morning and demonstrated against Power Development Department (PDD) and PWD (R&B) for excess billing of electricity and worst condition of road from Tikri to Katra, respectively.
The demonstrators even locked the office of PDD for few hours in a fit of anger. Later, they also blocked the Tikri-Katra Road for more than three hours and raised slogans against PDD and PWD (R&B).
The protestors dispersed after incharge Police Post, Tikri reached the spot and pacified them by assuring that their grievances would be brought into the notice of concerned higher authorities.
