RAJOURI, Sept 22: Family members, relatives of the deceased youth, Jasbir Singh and the people from Dali village and adjoining areas, today held strong protest along with dead body at Kalakote and blocked road for about six hours demanding arrest of the people involved in his alleged murder.
The people kept the dead body of  this 24-year-old  youth on the road at Kalakote town at around 9 am and sat on dharna on the main Rajouri-Kalakote-Tartath road. The people were raising slogans against Police and alleged that Jasbir was not killed in  Tractor accident as protected by Dharamsal police but he was murdered brutally.  The protesting family members also alleged that Tractor  had slightly tilted and its one front wheel had shown gone into the side drain.  Under such circumstances death is not possible and it was clear drama enacted by the accused persons to mislead the police and the  people.
The family members further alleged that accused had attacked on his head from the back and was placed near the tractor by the assailants to project it as accident and the police was also cooking the same theory. They also provided some inputs about the suspects and said that postmortem be conducted under camera.
The market in the area of protest at Kalakote town was also closed and movement of the vehicles came to grinding halt for the hours together.  A large traffic jam was created in the town. The people  also demanded shifting of case from Dharamsal to Kalakote Police Station and also constitution of a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
Later, SHO Kalakote, Tehsildar and SDM Kalakote, Khaliq Hussain  arrived there and tried to pacify the people but they failed to convince them and the protest continued.  They allegedly had some heated arguments during talks with some youth and the people got more agitated.
Then  Addl SP Nowshera  Atul   Sharma and SDPO,  Nawaz Ahmed arrived there at around 2. 15 pm and assured the people that a SIT will be constituted to probe the matter. They said that for shifting case to the other Thana, they will write to the SSP Rajouri. On their assurance, the people lifted dharna  at around 2.45 pm and allowed movement of traffic. The market was also opened there after.
