SAMBA, June 2: The inhabitants of Patli Morh village Rakh Badoi Ward No 6 in Vijaypur Constituency held a protest demonstration against the district administration in front of PDD Office Vijaypur today against the power failure in the area as the local transformer had developed a snag 12 days back and since then the area is in complete blackout.
The protesters including a sizable number of women raised slogans against the authorities of PDD and administration.
Addressing the protesters Sarpanch, Sarwan Kumar of Panchayat Patli said that people are put to many hardships in this scorching heat as the area is facing complete blackout for last 12 days now. Besides, the water supply has also been affected in the area due to power failure.
He alleged that the PDD authorities have failed to redress the problem despite repeated pleas forcing the people to come to streets. He said the new transformer was brought to be installed in the area but it was taken to another village by the officials later.
Some NC leaders also joined the protest. They warned that in case the transformer was not installed immediately the people will be forced to block the National Highway.
