KATHUA, Feb 9: The motor cycle rally taken by the youth of a particular community against the Hijab issue of Karnataka evoked a strong protest against the members of another community in Billawar today who later blocked the Panther Chowk in the town demanding action against the youth who took out the rally and were trying to disturb the peaceful atmosphere in J&K.
The protestors said that Hijab issue is of Karnataka and the Government of that State has to deal with it and the J&K has nothing to do with this issue as the people especially in Jammu region live in peace and have always respected the sentiments of each other. They urged the administration to book the people who are trying to create a wedge between the communities and those who took out the rally to disturb the peace in the area.
The protestors warned that they will not allow anyone to disturb the peaceful atmosphere in the area as Hijab issue is the internal matter of Karnataka State and J&K has nothing to do with it.
Earlier over dozen of youth of a particular community took out a motor cycle rally from Phinter Chowk to Billawar protesting against the Hijab issue and demanded that Muslims in Karnataka be given the full religious freedom.
