UDHAMPUR, July 29: Aggrieved over no supply of adequate drinking water in the area, residents of village Sambal, Sui, Vinayak Colony today held a massive protest against the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department.
Led by Advocate Sanjeet Bavouria, Chairman Jan Sangharsh Sanstha, the protesters raised slogans against PHE authorities and District administration amidst beating of plates.
They alleged that with no regular supply of drinking water for many years, people of the area were suffering and their normal life was also getting affected. Sanjeet Bavouria said that the matter was brought into the notice of the concerned authorities many times but all remained in vain.
“Sometimes PHE Departments supplies drinking water from water tanks but locals are mostly dependent on natural sources of the water, which are not hygienic ,” he added.
The protest demonstration was attended by Shobha Devi, Yashpal, Sanjay Kumar, Thakur Das, Ishwardas, Hemraj Sharma, Sahil Sharma, Rahul Sharma, Pankaj Sharma, Raj Kumar, Amit Pathania and Ramesh Chand.
