JAMMU, July 29: The J&K Government had designated Director General of Police (Prisons) as the Competent Authority to grant special parole for another eight weeks in respect of convict prisoners which will be extendable by further eight weeks if the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the Union Territory doesn’t improve.
An order to this effect was issued by the Home Department of the J&K Government today.
The parole will, however, be subject to certain conditions, the order said.
