JAMMU, July 3: The family members and the kin of a man, who was killed yesterday after hit by a JCB in Ranjan area of Gharota today blocked the road at Doomi demanding compensation.
The family members, kin and neighbours of the deceased man identified as Sham Lal son of Dewan Chand, resident of Ranjan, came out on road and disrupted vehicular traffic for about one hour.
Alleging that the victim was the only bread earner for the family, they demanded adequate compensation for the family members of the deceased.
On getting information, senior police officers reached the spot and pacified the protesters after which traffic was restored on the road.
