RAJOURI, July 19: The people from Thannamandi town held protest against the R&B authorities as the authorities working on a PMGSY road have abandoned the drainage work.
These people alleged that Thannamandi-Mangota Darra road being constructed by PMGSY has been abandoned by the concerned authorities without drainage work. During massive rain last night, the rain water entered to their houses and shops causing extensive damage to their property.
They said that on earlier occasion also, they had held protest demanding execution of drainage work. But no body bothered. Today again, it has happened and people suffered damages.
Later, SDPO Thannamandi and Tehsildar reached the spot and they pacified the agitating people. They assured that drain will be constructed within two days. The people then lifted dharna and allowed movement of vehicles.
