KATHUA, May 11: The irate residents of Chadwal blocked Jammu -Pathankot National Highway for 40 minutes today in protest against the power failure in the area.
The protesters including men, women and children squatted on the Highway and did not allow any vehicle to pass resulting into a huge traffic jam and problems to commuters.
The protesters raising slogans against the PDD authorities said that they failed to restore the power supply in the area which has been disrupted after the breakdown of local transformer.
Later they lifted the Highway blockade and disbursed peacefully on the assurance of SDPO Border and other police officers who visited the area and assured them that the transformer will be restored soon.
