DODA, June 30: Residents of Himote area of district Doda in Bhaderwah Sub Division held a peaceful protest in Bhaderwah to show their resentment against the concerned department for deliberately ignoring the genuine demands of the people to provide all weather road connectivity with blacktop.
At Himote protestors raised slogans against the department for their indifferent attitude towards them and alleged that R&B department has adopted biased approach and bent upon ignoring their genuine demand of filling of potholes, construction of Culverts , drainage system, sewerage pipes and timely blacktop of link road leading to their village.
They said that despite repeated requests no body from the department visited the locality to listen to their miseries. They appealed to the concerned department to kindly try to understand our important issue and solve it as soon as possible
A concerned R&B department official said,” People’s demand is genuine and we have already done three tenders unfortunately contractors left the work. We don’t know the reason but issue has been discussed with higher authorities and re-tender process is under pipeline and we expect demands of general public will be fulfilled shortly,” he added.
