NOWSHERA, May 25: The villagers from Brari area today held protest demonstration against the Jal Shakti/ PHE Department for severe shortage of drinking water in the area.
Sources said that at about 1100 hrs the inhabitants of village Brari, led by Capt (Retd) Sat Pal and concerned Sarpanch, Anita Devi, blocked Nowshera- Seri road and started protest demonstration against PHE department for shortage of drinking water in the area. They disrupted movement of traffic for some time and raised loud slogans against the PHE authorities for failure to provide adequate supply of water.
AEE, PHE reached the spot and listened the grievances of the agitating people. On his assurance, the villagers then lifted dharna from the road.
