SAMBA, Jan 3: The irate people of Jatwal in Samba held a protest demonstration against Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department for its failure to provide drinking water to the town and its peripheries.
The protestors were raising slogans against PHE Department, administration and Government for their failure in addressing the genuine problem of the public of Jatwal. He said that due to official apathy and corruption, the people of Jatwal are suffering on account of non availability of drinking water. He said that despite availability of sufficient drinking water, the department fails to distribute it properly.
He alleged that the PHE officials have laid special lines with round the clock supply for the ruling Party leaders at the cost of the common people who are suffering for want of drinking water.
Prominent among those who participated in the protest included Panch Pinky Devi,Anita Rani, Chajju Ram, Kanta Devi, Ramesh Kumar and others.
