JAMMU, Jan 3: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today realized Rs 13,000 from the erring shopkeepers for not maintaining health standards in their premises.
A team of Food Safety officers along with other field staff under the supervision of Commissioner JMC Kiran Wattal and Dr Mohammad Saleem Khan, Health Officer, conducted an extensive tour in the Kanji House, Jewel and Sant Market areas of Jammu city.
The team inspected various shops including fish sale counters, petha shops, dhabas, bakery shops and other eatable points.
During the inspection a bakery shop namely New Jeevan Bakery at Jewel Chowk was found manufacturing bakery products under most unhygienic conditions and was directed to maintain the hygienic conditions in their premises.
A compounding fee of Rs 13,000 was realized on spot from the defaulters for not maintaining the food standards.
